bPlease refer to the cleaning guidelines in document number 609-23010;
cUnder certain conditions, the presence of free chlorine and other oxidants in the incoming water can cause serious membrane damage. As oxidation damage is not covered by the product warranty, FilmTec recommends removing residual free chlorine in the pre-treatment before the membrane. Please refer to technical data 609-22010 for further assistance.
Dow Membrane Component Maintenanceimportant information:
It is necessary to correctly start the reverse osmosis water treatment system to prevent damage to the membrane components caused by water flow or hydraulic shock when the membrane system is ready for operation. Following the correct startup sequence helps ensure that system operating parameters comply with design specifications, thereby achieving the established design goals for system water quality and quantity. Before the initial startup program of the membrane system, the pre-treatment system debugging, membrane component loading, instrument calibration, and other system checks of the membrane system should be completed. For more information, please refer to the application literature titled "Startup Sequence".
oltremareRO reverse osmosis systemoperation guide:
During startup, shutdown, cleaning, or other processes, to prevent potential membrane damage, any sudden pressure or cross flow rate changes in the coiled components should be avoided. During the startup process, we recommend gradually transitioning from a static state to an operational state according to the following procedure:
The water supply pressure should gradually increase within the time range of 30-60 seconds.
The designed cross flow velocity value should gradually reach within 15-20 seconds.
The product water should be drained within the first hour.
Storage of Dow Membrane Componentsgeneral information:
Once the component is wetted, it should always be kept moist.
If the user does not strictly follow the operating limits and guidelines set in this specification, the limited warranty will be invalidated.
When the system is shut down for a long time, it is recommended to immerse the membrane components in a protective solution to prevent microbial growth. The standard storage solution contains 1.5% by weight of sodium bisulfite (food grade).
Users should be responsible for the impact of using incompatible chemicals and lubricants on components.
A single pressure vessel? The maximum allowable pressure drop is 50psi (3.4 bar).
Always avoid creating back pressure on the water side of the product.
